Our farm is not just the place we live, it is our home and our animals are our family.
Our adventure started with a family outing to a local alpaca farm one cold December day. We fell in love with the animals, the products and the lifestyle. Seven years later our dream became a reality. We have continued to grow our farm since 2014 when we brought our foundation herd of five females home to Honeybee HIlls.
Alpacas are more than just beautiful and funny animals, they are amazing fiber producers. Their luxurious fiber is processed into a variety of products. The only limitation is your imagination!
Many of our products for sale are from the beautiful animals at Honeybee Hills Alpacas. We do have some items that do not come from our animals. Please feel free to ask if this is important to you, we understand and appreciate the importance of supporting small businesses like ours. Thank you for your support!
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We are animal lovers plain and simple. We wanted animals to raise that did not require butchering for meat or tanning of hides. While alpacas may be used for meat and hides our family chooses to enjoy the luxurious fiber year after year while we love on the animals. For the health and safety of our animals we do have annual shearing in April. We utilize an expert shearer that travels from New Zealand. We skirt and sort the fiber here on the farm and then send the fiber to a family mill in Iowa. We eagerly await the finished products and enjoy watching customers use the products for their special projects.
Due to differences in monitor settings, we can't guarantee the colors you see will be exact in person.
We understand when buying fiber products it is nice to be able to handle the product. Unfortunately when buying online this ability is removed. It may be possible for certain products such as yarn to have a small swatch mailed. Of course until you feel the amazing squish of a skein you won't truly know the joy of the product.
We would be happy to have classes upon demand. Email us ideas of what you would be interested in; making your own dryer balls, wet felting or dry felting, beginner crochet, wreath making, mug rug weaving, introduction to alpaca farming, etc.
We are able to provide fieldtrips for small groups of less than 20, with sufficient planning. All visitors must be well behaved and kind to all of our animals or you will be asked to leave. We do not allow visiting dogs for the safety of those dogs. While our livestock guardian dogs are extremely friendly to humans, the number one threat to alpacas in our area happens to be the stray dog. Our dogs may mistake your precious pet as a threat to their herd. Should a visitor utilize a service animal we can discuss accommodations and how to make the best of your visit with your service animal.
